CARE Team News

The West Midlands CARE Team is a charity-funded Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (PHEM) service that provides clinical support for the West Midlands Ambulance Service.

But just what is Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine, and why is it so important?

Dr Bradley Allen will be running the New York Marathon this November, to raise money for the West Midlands CARE Team.

WM CARE Team are delighted to announce that Hannah Bawdon, one the WM CARE Team’s key volunteers, will be taking part in the Birmingham – Black Country Half Marathon, on Saturday.

Starting at 9:30am sharp, Bawdon will be running from the British Waterways Canal Dock in Wolverhampton to Brindley Place in Birmingham City Centre. She’s been training hard, despite the heatwave, and is looking forward to completing the challenge.

Having been volunteering for the CARE team since 2009 as a Clinical Team Lead, Hannah has become a pillar within the charity, and is excited to be raising money to support the delivery of clinical care and the professional development of the volunteers.

So far, she has surpassed her target, raising an impressive £530 (£651.25 including gift aid).
