West Midlands CARE Team Prehospital Training Programme
The West Midlands CARE team has been involved in the training of doctors, nurses and paramedics in advanced prehospital care for over 25 years. Our structured educational program aims to support the professional development of pre-hospital providers at every level of Prehospital training.
In 2012 the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care (FPHC) executive acknowledged cross-specialty competencies and moved to designate pre-hospital capability on the basis of skill rather than job title. In recognition of this, the West Midlands CARE team was one of the first pre-hospital schemes in the UK to designate roles within the team based on FPHC skill level rather than base specialty job title or profession.
Our Pre-Hospital Training Program has been aligned with both the Intercollegiate Board for Training in Pre-Hospital Emergency Medicine (IBTPHEM) Curriculum and the FPHC Skill Levels.
